Abstract:
The growth of abundance and ubiquity of data are exponential. We are used to data coming from instruments; now, however, we experience data everywhere. Combine that with customer-use data through automated meter reading or advanced metering infrastructure and a better-informed public that provides real-time feedback with social media, and you get data overload. The question facing the industry is how to use the data it receives.
